Terms of Use
Kuvajmo connects neighbours who share food. This page explains in plain words how that works, who is responsible for what, and on what terms you use the app. Please read it before you open an account.

Who provides the service and what these terms mean
The Kuvajmo service (the iPhone and Android apps, the website kuvajmo.com and the services behind them) is provided by Nikola Dašić PR STRUNA, an entrepreneur (preduzetnik) (below: "the operator" or "we"). All details about the provider are in the legal notice. The operator’s registration details (address, company registration number, tax identification number and activity) will be added before launch.
These terms are a contract between you and the operator about using the service. The contract comes into being when, on opening an account, you accept these terms and the Privacy Policy and confirm that you are at least 18 years old. The Privacy Policy and the Legal Notice apply alongside them. The version of the terms and the policy you accepted, the time of acceptance and the age confirmation are recorded and are part of the copy of your data. People under 18 cannot have an account.
What Kuvajmo is and what it is not
Kuvajmo is a free service that connects neighbours. Someone who already cooks for their household (the cook) cooks a few portions more and offers them. Someone else (the eater) reserves them in advance, takes part in the cost of preparing them and picks the food up. It is an exchange between neighbours, not a sale.
- Kuvajmo does not sell, prepare, check or deliver food. The food is prepared and given by the cook, on the cook's own responsibility.
- The operator is not a party to the exchange between a cook and an eater. The exchange is only between the two of them.
- Kuvajmo charges no commission, fee or subscription, does not receive or forward money between cooks and eaters, and does not earn from the exchanges users make. The operator runs the service free of charge; voluntary donations are welcome but never required (see "Voluntary donations").
- Kuvajmo does not register cooks as entrepreneurs or companies, does not check them and does not check their kitchens.
- While Kuvajmo is invite-only, an account is opened with an invite code.
The operator is a registered entrepreneur, which is why its details are public: the law requires a provider of an information society service to be identifiable. That Kuvajmo is free and does not earn from the exchange describes how the service works; it does not mean the operator is not registered.
Who the other party is. A cook is, in the idea behind this service, a private person who shares food cooked for their own household, not a trader, and every cook declares that this is so (see below). Kuvajmo cannot check it. So an eater should not expect the protection they would have in a shop or a restaurant. And if a cook does act as a trader, the rules that apply to traders apply to their relationship with the eater, whatever these terms say.
Your account
- An account is opened with an invite code and an email address, and you sign in with a one-time code that arrives by email. There are no passwords.
- One account is used both for reserving and for cooking. There are no separate accounts for cooks and eaters.
- The name shown must not falsely present you as another person. Do not open accounts in someone else's name or fake accounts.
- You are responsible for everything done through your account and for the security of your email, because whoever has access to the email can sign in. If you suspect misuse, tell us.
- You can change your email address in the app. After a ban you cannot return with a new account; we close such an account.
What applies to cooks
When you offer food, you declare and undertake that:
- you are a private person sharing part of the food you cook for your household, and you do not run a catering or any other business through the Kuvajmo app;
- you do not cook large amounts every day only for guests. Kuvajmo limits an offer to at most 5 portions and 3 offers per pickup day (15 portions a day in all). We may change these limits, and you must not get around them;
- you state accurately what is in the dish, the ingredients, their origin, how it is made, the packaging and all 14 allergens. For each allergen you must choose "contains", "may contain" or "does not contain", and fill in the kitchen declaration (pets, allergens in the household, cross-contact). If anything changes you must change the offer;
- you prepare, store and hand over food hygienically and safely, you do not cook for others while ill, and the hygiene habits you ticked are true (they are your own declaration);
- you keep to the pickup window and to what you agreed with the eater, and you cancel an offer only when you must, because eaters rely on it;
- your estimates of calories and nutrition values are given in good faith. The calculator in the app is a help, not a measurement: it uses a table of common ingredients (USDA FoodData Central) and the weights of raw ingredients. The final estimate is always yours and you answer for it;
- the contribution you ask for matches your share of the cost of preparation (ingredients, energy, packaging), not a profit.
Your legal position as a cook is your own responsibility. Regularly sharing food for a contribution can, depending on the circumstances, be treated under the rules (on food safety, tax and others) as an activity that needs registration, authorisation or notification. Whether that is so for you depends on the facts and the rules. Kuvajmo does not decide it for you, does not check it and does not advise you. Ask the competent authorities or a professional. The framing "an exchange between neighbours" does not change what the law says.
The exact address is seen only by an eater with a confirmed reservation, for a limited time (see the Privacy Policy). Eaters must not share it.
What applies to eaters
- A reservation is a commitment to come at the agreed time. You can cancel until the order cutoff, which is stated with the offer. If you do not come, the cook can mark a no-show and leave a negative review.
- Before reserving, read what is in the dish and the allergens and compare them with your needs. If you have an allergy or a special need, ask the cook by message before you reserve.
- Bring a clean container, unless the offer says otherwise.
- You hand the contribution directly to the cook, in cash or by IPS transfer, as stated with the offer.
- Use the exact address you receive only for the pickup; do not share or publish it.
- Keep in mind that the food is prepared in a home kitchen, not in a premises supervised by an inspection.
The contribution
- The contribution is your share of the cost of preparing the portion, not a price and not the cook's earnings. The cook sets the amount for each offer; you see it before you reserve, together with how it is given (before pickup or at pickup).
- You give the contribution to the cook directly: in cash at pickup or by sending it through IPS. The IPS QR code in the app contains the cook's account and name, the amount and the reservation code. While the cook or the eater has few reviews, the app recommends giving the contribution at pickup. A cook can ask for the contribution before handing over the food.
- Kuvajmo never receives, holds or forwards money for food and is not a payment institution. The app cannot see whether a contribution arrived: the cook marks it as received.
- Kuvajmo does not refund money. Since money does not pass through Kuvajmo, we cannot return it. If something goes wrong (the food is not as described, the contribution was given but there is no food), turn to the cook; if that fails, report the problem in the app, and we can pause or ban an account. We do not investigate and do not judge disputes about money. For criminal offences and civil disputes, turn to the police, the prosecutor or a court.
Allergens, food safety and health
The food is prepared in a home kitchen. The cook states allergens in good faith, but cross-contact can never be fully excluded. If you have a severe allergy, you decide whether to eat something, and you should ask the cook first.
- Kuvajmo does not prepare food, does not check kitchens and does not guarantee the safety of food. The list of hygiene habits on a cook's profile is the cook's own declaration.
- The allergy profile and the warnings in the app are a help, not a guarantee: they depend on what the cook entered.
- Nutrition values are the cook's estimate, not a measurement. The "fits your goal" display is calculated by simple, public rules from those estimates. It is not medical or dietary advice. If you have a health problem or a special diet, consult a doctor.
- If after a meal you have an allergic reaction or symptoms and it is serious, call the ambulance (194) at once. Then report it in the app: the cook's offers may be paused at once until a person has reviewed the report.
Messages, reviews and conduct
- Be courteous. Insults, threats, harassment, discrimination, inappropriate content, unsolicited advertising (spam) and publishing other people's personal data are forbidden.
- Communicate in the app. Phone numbers are never shown to the other side. Messages are kept and can serve as a record when reports are resolved.
- A review is possible only after a real reservation (picked up or marked as a no-show) and must be honest. Fake reviews, reviews in exchange for a favour and threats of a bad review are forbidden. The reviewed person can reply once, publicly.
- Every reservation, profile, review and message has a Report button. Report impersonation, wrong or missing allergens, food not as described, no-shows, fraud or abusive behaviour.
- You can block a person from a conversation, a reservation or a cook's page. Blocking is private: the other person is not told. After it neither of you can message the other or see the other's offers, and the blocked person cannot reserve the blocker's offers; reservations already in progress keep working. You can unblock in Settings. Blocking is not a report: if someone broke the rules, report them as well.
- False reports are not allowed. Repeated unfounded reports lead to a warning or a ban.
What we do about reports: pause, warning, ban
- When someone who picked up food from a cook in the last 14 days reports an allergic reaction or illness, that cook's offers are paused at once, open reservations are cancelled (and eaters notified), and a person reviews the report. A report from anyone else does not pause the cook by itself, but goes first in the queue.
- Offers are also paused automatically when a cook receives several reports or negative reviews in a short time, until they are reviewed.
- Minor breaches lead to a warning. A confirmed serious or repeated problem leads to a ban: the account is closed, and the email address (and phone number, if given) is blocked from opening an account again. A banned person can appeal once by email.
- We pause and ban; we do not investigate. Anything that is a criminal offence is reported to the competent authorities. We give personal data to nobody except authorities with a legal basis.
- We may hide or remove content (messages, reviews, dishes, offers) that breaks these terms or the law, and without prior notice where that is needed for safety. We do not review users' content in advance.
- If you think some content is unlawful, report it in the app or write to contact@kuvajmo.com. We will act as soon as we learn of it.
Invite codes
- While Kuvajmo is invite-only, an invite code is needed to open an account. Every user gets 3 codes (we may change that number), and each code works once.
- Give codes to people you know. Do not swap them for money or a favour.
- We record who invited whom. It helps us with reports; a person who invited someone else is not punished automatically for that person's behaviour.
Voluntary donations
Voluntary donations to the operator are welcome, but they are never required. Kuvajmo takes no money for anything it does. A donation buys nothing and never changes how you are treated: no ranking, no badge, no access. It is a gift to the person who runs Kuvajmo; it is not payment for the exchange between a cook and an eater and it does not go to cooks. No way of receiving donations exists yet and these terms promise nothing about one; if we introduce one, we will update these terms and the Privacy Policy.
Your content and rights
The content you publish (texts, photos, dishes, offers, messages, reviews) stays yours. You guarantee that you have the right to publish it: that the photos are not someone else's and the content does not infringe the rights of others. By publishing, you give the operator a non-exclusive, free licence to store that content, to show it to other users within the service and to process it for running the service and moderation, for as long as you use the service. After you delete your account the licence applies only to content that remains anonymised, as explained in the Privacy Policy. The licence does not give the operator the right to sell your content or to use it for advertising.
The name "Kuvajmo", the logo, the texts, the look and the code of the apps and the website belong to the operator and must not be used without permission, except as these terms allow. The sources of data we use are listed in the legal notice.
Availability of the service
Kuvajmo is free and runs in a commercial data centre (at DigitalOcean in Frankfurt), not on a home server. It can still be unavailable, for example because of maintenance, the release of a new version, a fault or a major incident. We do not guarantee uninterrupted operation, speed or that the service will be free of errors. You can see the state on the Service status page. The app also keeps confirmed reservations on the phone, so a pickup can go ahead even when the server is down. The test environment for closed testing runs on a home server in Serbia and can be unavailable more often, for example because of a power cut or an internet outage.
We may change features and limits, ask you to update the app so that you can keep using it, pause the service or stop providing it. If we stop, we will tell you in advance as far as possible and let you download your data.
Liability
The operator is not liable for the food cooks prepare and give, for the accuracy of the data cooks enter (what is in a dish, allergens, nutrition values), for the conduct of users, for no-shows and cancellations, or for damage arising from the exchange between a cook and an eater. For that, the cook and the eater are liable, each for their part. You are liable for damage you cause to others by breaking these terms or the law.
Because the service is free, to the extent the law allows, the operator's liability for the service itself is limited to damage caused intentionally or by gross negligence.
Nothing in these terms excludes or limits liability that cannot be excluded or limited by law. That includes liability for damage caused intentionally or by gross negligence, liability for damage to life, body or health to the extent the law forbids excluding it, and the rights you have by law as a consumer.
Ending use and deleting your account
- You can stop at any time by deleting your account in the app or at kuvajmo.com/delete-account/. You must first finish or cancel open reservations, because the other side relies on them. What is deleted and what remains anonymised is on that page and in the Privacy Policy.
- We may pause or close an account that breaks these terms or the law (a warning, a pause or a ban, as described above), and for a serious breach without prior warning.
- After the contract ends, the provisions that by their nature should last remain in force (content, liability, governing law).
Information for consumers
If you use Kuvajmo as a consumer (as a natural person not acting within their business), you have the rights under the consumer protection rules to the extent they apply to this service. These terms do not limit them.
- The provider of the service is Nikola Dašić PR STRUNA; the address and contact are in the legal notice.
- The service is free: Kuvajmo takes nothing, so there is no extra cost. The cost of internet access is yours, with your own provider.
- The contract is concluded for an indefinite period and you can end it at any time by deleting your account.
- Send complaints to contact@kuvajmo.com. We will answer without delay, and at the latest within the period the law sets.
- The exchange of food is between you and the cook, and Kuvajmo is not a party to it (see "What Kuvajmo is and what it is not").
- You can also turn to the authorities and bodies competent for consumer protection, in accordance with the law.
Changes to the terms
We may change these terms, for example when the service or the rules change. The version and the date they take effect are at the top of the page. We will tell you about important changes in the app or by email before they apply. When a change is of the kind that requires it, the app will ask you to accept the terms again before you go on, and the new acceptance is recorded. If you disagree, you can delete your account before the change takes effect. If you go on using the service after that, you are taken to accept the changed terms, to the extent the law allows.
Governing law, disputes and language
These terms are governed by the law of the Republic of Serbia. We try to settle disputes amicably: write to contact@kuvajmo.com. If that fails, the court in Serbia determined by the rules of the law is competent. These terms do not limit a consumer's right to turn to a court or body the law provides for.
These terms are written in Serbian and the Serbian text is binding. The English and Russian versions are for understanding; if a translation and the Serbian text differ, the Serbian text prevails.
